Your Trusted Partner in Upstate Real Estate
Meet Michele
Michele Shkor is a REALTOR® with JW Martin Real Estate serving Oconee, Pickens, and Anderson Counties. Her work is focused on residential sales, helping buyers evaluate homes and lots, helping sellers’ price and position properties, and helping clients compare resale options against building new. The practice is local by design and Michele has lived in a Lake Keowee neighborhood for more than two decades. Michele graduated from Eastern Michigan University with degrees in Social Studies, Secondary Education, and Occupational Therapy. She has spent 35 years as an occupational therapist in clinical settings across Ohio, Mississippi, Guam, South Carolina, and Florida before entering real estate, that prior career is relevant to the work because it trained a methodical process, attention to how people use space, and clear communication with multiple parties. Those ideas carry into showings, pricing conversations, inspection negotiations, and builder discussions. She now concentrates on residential real estate in the Upstate, with particular familiarity around Lake Keowee, Salem, Seneca, Clemson, and nearby communities.
What “Local” Means Here
Lake Keowee is not one market. A cove home with a dock, an interior home in an amenity community, a lot with build restrictions, and a house near downtown Seneca can perform very differently in price, timeline, insurance, HOA cost, and resale. Michele has lived in a Lake Keowee neighborhood for more than two decades and designed and built a home in the area. That is the filter she uses on every evaluation and showing:
Is the location actually convenient to Clemson, Seneca, or medical care?
Does “lake access” mean a usable slip, a community ramp, or a long waitlist?
Is the floor plan practical for year-round living or mainly a weekend house?
Will the price hold up against recent closed sales, not just active listings?
If the client wants to build, what does the site and timeline really require?
Who She Works With
Sellers: Owners who want a current number before listing, relocating, or deciding whether to improve the property first. Evaluations are based on local comparables, condition, and buyer demand in this corridor—not a statewide average.
Buyers: People searching for waterfront or lake-access homes, low-maintenance properties, homes near Clemson, or a lot. The work is narrowing the search to properties that match use, budget, and exit value.
Relocating Clients: Buyers moving to the Upstate for work, retirement, or family. The value is translating listing language into lived reality: drive times, community rules, school areas, lake rules, and what “close to town” actually means from a given neighborhood.
Clients Considering New Construction: Buyers weighing a finished home against a lot and a builder. Michele’s own build experience is used to flag schedule, site, and cost issues early.
